Ngl, I hate that I kinda agree with the "stir the pot" opinion for OK Computer, I have been trying for forever to get that album to click. And it just hasn't. Great read!
Cheers! Yeah, it’s the one album (and, for the most part, artist) on the list I just can’t get along with. Even had a superfan friend make me a curated playlist and it didn’t help much.
"one-note rock band that capitalised on their unexpected success and never developed beyond their angsty roots" are you *sure* you weren't writing about Deftones here
I think it's good, but I think the album is done something of a disservice when it's often hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time. I just have trouble seeing it, but I'm 90% sure at this point that it's just a me issue
*All* opinions on Radiohead are terrible and I'm glad this post/comment thread has complied with this tradition.
"Conversation killer: Bleach was better" is a real and brutal death to any good discussion. Those teenagers are real and some of them are still walking around in adult bodies!
True Beatleheads know the actual way to rile up Abbey Road stans is calling the medley a gimmick and saying the band was better before they dropped acid
"Strip that away and you’re left with an abrasive, bloated, sub-standard hip hop record that, despite being well-intentioned, is sorely lacking in actual production quality."
-- In reference to To Pimp A Butterfly
All's fair in love, war, and blog-adjacent takes on popular music, but consider my buttons firmly pressed. The pot is more easily stirred by criticising the repetition of the poem.
Some truly top-tier ragebait here, it takes real skill to dream up some of these points. I would say that in the Floyd fanbase, "DSOTM overrated" is quite a common take. May I propose an alternative to stir the pot as:
DSOTM may have been great in its time, but the streaming era has destroyed full album listens and that's the only way the record works. It's outdated and should be left in the past with Ummagumma.

Your pitch for SEVEN: abominable takes to upset reasonable people has been received

Bleach was better, In Utero is the best

There's an even easier cheat code here, and it starts with "best tr" and ends "ack Maxwell's Silver Hammer"

good timing on your "The Chain" comment, I would have quit reading right there either way
