Another week, another slathering of sonic putridity spreads across the internet airwaves like a gruesome glaze. A malignant mucus. A sinister sludge. An…an ocean of putrid, stinky, vile, disgusting hell!

Brace to witness the orthodoxy of black metal twisted into esoterica, as Amphisbaena tears a rift into a dissonant dimension of symbolic serpents and phalli. Ancient Torment and Feral Lord are fierce representatives of the USBM discipline soaked in thrumming melody, whereas Eskapism convoke distinctly forested European (Ukrainian) folk-black infused with flute and glittering keys.

The death worshippers this week show slightly more adherence to their predecessors’ traditions, but still the variety of flavors summoned goes to show the complexity of even just OSDM. Cancer Void bring buzzsaw bog metal with almost Bosch-ian art of distorted monstrosities. Putriditium rumble and belch like noxious geothermal gas, and Hedonist (whom Sint figured mainstream enough for regular Weeklies; it’s Southern Lord so…slim pass) are a leather-bound engine of war, armed to the teeth with egregiously spiked daggers.
